This fall we will explore what it means to be Agents of Grace—not just one Sunday a year when our congregation gathers for Agents of Grace Sunday, but every day of the year. The series will indeed undergird us scripturally and spiritually as we engage in our annual Agents of Grace Sunday on October 13 and a wrap up of the series on October 20. We will consider the “Why?” “To Whom?” and “How” of being an Agent of Grace in our world.

The focal scriptures for this series are Matthew 25:31-46 (“What you have done to the least of these you have done to me”), the Golden Rule (Matthew 7:12), and the Parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37). Pastor Deborah will share some of what she has learned and  experienced on sabbatical during this series. Join us for worship September 8-October 20 for this “Agents of Grace” series.

Agents of Grace—October 13, 2024

Put DUPC’s “Agents of Grace” on your calendar for Sunday, October 13. This day is set aside to reach out and serve our congregation and community, loving as Jesus loved. What would God have you do?

GRACE is also an acronym representing five attributes:

G is for generosity, the will to do something more for others.

R is respect, the dignity of life and work.

A is action, the mechanism for change.

C is compassion, the concern for others.

E is energy, the spirit that catalyzes us.

Our day will begin with a worship service at 10:30 a.m. followed by a luncheon provided for those who will be sharing their time and talents in the afternoon.

Open to all youth and adults, some planned opportunities to share your grace include:

· Singing at a local senior living facility

· Visitation to shut-ins or others identified church members

· THRIVE—packing food items for distribution

· Making cards and writing notes to uplift others

· Knitting or crocheting prayer squares

· Cooking a meal for Menchville House
