COMMUNITY
PARTNERS
Amongst the many organizations that we work with to further the mission and ministries of the church, these stand out as ones that we collaborate with most often and that we also support financially.
THRIVE PENINSULA
Founded by a coalition of churches – including Denbigh United – in the Denbigh area in 1973, THRIVE effectively acts as an arm of service for many churches throughout the peninsula. They help families in need with food, financial counseling, and financial assistance. Denbigh United and our members support them as an extension of the church in a variety of ways.

LINK of Hampton Roads
LINK is an organization that supports a variety of housing opportunities in our area. The most well-known – and the primary way Denbigh United partners with LINK – is through PORT. PORT is the cold season homeless shelter in Newport News which is housed at various churches, including Denbigh United, one to two weeks at a time. LINK also supports veteran housing, emergency housing assistance, and permanent housing opportunities for adults with disabilities.

Menchville House
Their mission is to help homeless women and families return to self-sufficiency by providing a temporary home and supportive services. Menchville House is a forty-six bed emergency housing facility located in the Denbigh area of Newport News on Warwick Blvd.

Peninsula Pastoral Counseling Center
PPCC serves individuals, couples, and families by providing professional counseling and consultation in a faith context. Denbigh United utilizes its valuable organization for referrals, advice, and support across the spectrum of ministry.

Virginia Peninsula Foodbank
The foodbank is an essential part of the peninsula’s support system and hunger relief in our community. It provides healthy food to individuals, children, families, seniors and veterans who otherwise might go without.
