OUR LEADERSHIP

Deborah Dail

SENIOR PASTOR

Deborah feels joyful and privileged to serve as the Pastor of Denbigh United Presbyterian Church. Prior to coming to Denbigh United, she served as the pastor of Elkton Presbyterian Church in Elkton, VA, and worked on the staff of the Presbytery of Eastern Virginia.

She is a graduate of Queens University in Charlotte, NC, and of FullerTheological Seminary in Pasadena, CA. Her husband, Dan, is a civilian employee with the U.S. Army at Ft. Eustis. They have two adult children.

She prays that as Denbigh United worships, studies, fellowships, and serves together all will share God's love in word and deed. It is her prayer that as the congregation gathers and are scattered throughout the week to our respective places of work, school, home, and community all will honor God with our lives.

Boone Clayton

ASSOCIATE PASTOR

Rev. Boone Clayton came to Denbigh United in the summer of 2018. Having grown up in northern Virginia, he earned his undergraduate degree in Sewanee, Tennessee. He got his Master of Divinity at Princeton Theological Seminary and a Master of Social Work at Rutgers University before accepting his first call as a solo pastor in Georgia. When his wife, Julie, finished her doctorate in psychology and took a commission in the U.S. Army, Pastor Boone had the opportunity to spend time with the Methodists as an associate pastor in Kansas. He has two wonderful children that never stop reminding him of all the amazing things God gives us every day.

"There has always been a sense inside of me of something ‘other,’ a higher power, creator, that which we call God. In being open to that and exploring that, I developed a relationship with God through Jesus. It is the product of study, prayer, contemplation, and community…a desire to match the world around me with the world God calls us to be."
